Mitsubishi WS-55909 green flashing light issue

  •    Hello to all, I just bought a used Mits WS-55909 from an individual at an estate sale. I saw it working fine before I bought it, got it home and nothing but a continuous green flashing light, no response to any buttons at all. I was carefull during transport of the TV, so I haven't been able to figure this out. I noticed others have had similar problems, so I thought I'd try to fixthis myself. I am a doiturselfer and do have some soldering experience. Can anyone shed any light on the likely cause and possible solutions? Thanks.

SONY KP-41S4U HELP ME PLEASE!

  • Hello good people of the forum,  I recently aquired a sony kp 41s4u and to cut a long story short, it had a blurry picture and didnt look right! so, being a headstrong fool like i am, i took it upon myself to follow someone else on this forums excellant cleaning instructions, which worked an absolute treat, it was 90% better just through cleaning!  I then removed the front panel and started fine tuning the focus etc, which also started clearing up the final flaws in the image. DISASTER! all of a sudden the screen just went to a solid green colour! i have no idea what i have done, but all the tuning screws just change the colour of the screen, but i cannot seem to get the picture back. all the lenses are firing out colour and everything else seems to be working fine. can someone please help me! my girlfriend will literally kill me for breaking this tv! Thanks so much for reading my tale of woe! James exleymead@hotmail.com

Zapdbf was right - 6 Blinks on Sony = HV Transformer

  • zapdbf said it was likely the HV Transformer.... Bingo!  I didn't want to change the transformer myself, so for 50% more than the price of the HV transformer T8001, I sent the D board in for repair.  Sure enough...they replaced the HV transformer.  Set works fine...no more blinks.  Thanks ZAPDBF!

Toshiba Convergance problem/Coaxial cable problem

  • I had the standard convergance problem with my Toshiba HDX55, the only problem is that the IC convergance chips are almost impossible to get to without removing the heatsinks and almost dismantling the whole board. I had a friend help me out with it, and in the process we cut the ground wires to get better access to the board. We got the new chips in with no problem, hooked everything back up, and then tried to fix the ground wires... which actually turned out to be the coaxial cables running from the cable inlet and rainbow plug inlets. I did my best to repair the cables. I soldered together the inside wire and covered it in electrical tape to protect it from the outside copper mesh. I connected the mesh of copper on the outside the best that I could, but it wasnt designed big enough to fit around 2 layers of electical tape. Anyways, after that was said and done, I plugged it back in for the first time in about 6 or 7 months, turned it on, and the power light blinks red, and I get a blank screen...      I'm assuming that I'm going to need to replace the coaxial cables, if...

WS-65713 Blinking Green Light

  • I have thrown in the towel and called a service guy to come fix my blinking green light of death.  From your help I can see that the culprit is likely a group of capacitors but I am not capable of that type work so I am at the mercy of the tech guy soon to show up at my door.  Any tips I should be aware of? Whats the chances the tech will come in and want to replace entire boards versus just replacing capacitors?  What is the difference in costs? Should I have a description of what to do ready for him?  Can you send me a "Here's How" to hand to him?

No blinking light or power

  • I have a Mitsubishi model WS 65857.  I was watching tv on it the other day and it just turned off.  I unplugged it for a day and then re-plugged it back in but nothing happened.  ( I do hear a pop like the tv is getting power though when I plug it back in.)  I see several posts talk about a blinking green light but I do not even have that on my tv.  Any ideas on what I can do?  Thanks in advance.
