Advances in technology typcially brings additional complexity, but until recently, video game machines have been designed to be similar to the "plug and chug" style of your DVD player or other home electronic device. However, new video game consoles, like Microsoft's XBOX 360, bear more similarities to computers than game machines past. In order to get the most out of your XBOX 360, you'll need to attain and install the latest updates.

The XBOX 360 PRO system includes a wireless controller for cord free gaming sessions, and odds are you've picked up a second wireless controller to allow more than one person to play at the same time. A common accessory for these wonderful wireless controllers is the Play & Charge Kit, which includes a rechargeable battery and charging cable. Odds are you don't need more than one charging cable no matter how many controllers you have, so you can save yourself a few bucks by buying just the battery for your second, third, or fourth controller, which is nearly half the price.

Not long ago, everyone was excited about Sony’s PSP. Why shouldn’t we have been? It’s by far the most technologically advanced handheld device that has ever been conceived. It plays games, music, and movies, and even surfs the Internet when connected to a Wi-Fi hotspot. It’s a very versatile handheld device, one that could have been the biggest thing since sliced bread. But like so many gadgets that have come before, the PSP is currently sitting idle in the closets of its once rabid fan base. The biggest question is why?

Did your DVD/CD player or combo unit suddenly take a turn for the worse? Did it stop reading some discs, start skipping, or just stop playing all together? The nintendo DS has just undergone an overhaul. Now we have the DS lite, which is lighter weight, and brigheter than the previous model. It is a comfortable fit in your hands, closes to protect the screen, has decent sound which can be connected to headphones or speakers. It plays the two most recent formats of nintendo games, and boasts built in wireless capability so that you can play with your friends, or you can set it up to work over a wireless network and play over the Internet. From the current games, I have nintendogs (lab and friends) and brain age, both of which I really like. This is a great hand held system, very affordable compared to the psp. I love the touch screen, and the microphone voice recognition.

Question: I have a portable Sony CD player (D-EJ119), and when I press play the LCD screen just flashes the word hold. Nothing happens, and I can't hear any music. Any ideas?
