The webinars promote tribal energy sufficiency and foster economic development and employment on tribal lands through the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.Tribes interested in responding to utility-offered renewable RFPs and/or interested in learning more about the competitive power market, utility staff, and other stakeholders should attend.
There is no charge to participate in the webinar. However, you must register.
This webinar will include an informative session and discussion on how utilities' generation portfolios are changing, often faster than the grid infrastructure that supports them, and the challenges utilities currently face in integrating new generation and demand (load) response technologies into a grid that was designed to operate a different way. Discussions will include transmission studies from the Western Grid Group and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
WINDPOWER 2012 Conference and Exhibition

The 2012 Conference and Exhibition will also focus on wind deployment and manufacturing development in the Southeast, an area of the country that until recently has seen limited wind deployment. A new university track at this year's conference will highlight the work of university students and faculty in wind deployment and technology development. Pre-session workshops will also provide newcomers to the industry an opportunity to learn more about wind technology, proper deployment, and the industry as a whole. Note that online registration ends on June 1 and prices increase after that date.
MREA Wind Turbine Design and Construction (Homebrew Wind)

Remote Sensing for Wind Energy
-
Date: 6/11/2012 to 6/15/2012
Location: Boulder, CO
The Wind Energy Department at the Technical University of Denmark (Risø Campus) and the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder, USA, are conducting a five-day "Remote Sensing for Wind Energy" summer school. For the last few years this summer school has been organized at DTU (formerly Risø DTU). In 2012 the summer school coincides nicely with the ISARS conference at Boulder, Colorado. Lectures, hands-on exercises and demonstrations of the instruments will be given by international experts in the field of remote sensing with applications to wind energy.
8th Annual Small Wind Installers Conference
-
Date: 6/12/2012 to 6/13/2012
Location: Stevens Point, WI
The Small Wind Installers Conference is for small wind-electric system installers, site assessors, designers, consultants, manufacturers, supply chain vendors, educators and advocates, and for those involved in sales, specification, management, grants and funding, and the permitting of small wind systems.
Nearly 300 small wind professionals and industry representatives from across the United States and nine countries attended the 2011 conference. While American manufacturers have led the global small wind industry, the conference has been a focal point for manufacturers, distributors and installers from Europe, Asia and Central and South America. The conference, held just days before the Midwest Renewable Energy Fair in Custer, Wisconsin, is a forum for cutting edge information on new trends in the industry, emerging technologies and testing, issues in zoning and permitting, workforce development and training, site assessment and funding mechanisms. 2011 saw significant developments in opportunities for small wind installers and manufacturers. Hear first-hand reports from leaders in the field.
The Small Wind Installer Conference is also the site for an extensive exhibitor hall featuring turbine, tower, wind resource assessment, and wind advocate services and products.
