Xiaomi, a well-known tech brand in China, is preparing to launch its first smartwatch running Wear OS, according to leaked renders of the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro. While Xiaomi has previously used its own proprietary software for its smartwatches, the company seems to be embracing Google’s Wear OS platform with this upcoming release. The leaked information suggests that the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro will feature a stainless steel body and a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466. Under the hood, it is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon E5+ wearable SoC, along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. This should provide users with excellent performance and ample storage for downloading apps. While this news should be taken with a grain of salt until official confirmation, it is exciting to see Xiaomi potentially entering the Wear OS market and offering consumers another option in the smartwatch space.
