Title: NEA Launches Clean Public Toilets Campaign 2023 to Promote Responsible Use of Public Toilets

Introduction:
The National Environment Agency (NEA) in Singapore has launched its Clean Public Toilets Campaign 2023, in collaboration with the Public Hygiene Council (PHC), Restroom Association Singapore (RAS), and Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM). The campaign aims to promote the responsible use of public toilets and encourage good hygiene habits among users.

Campaign Theme and Objectives:
The theme of this year’s campaign is “Are you nice when no one’s around? Do it right for everyone.” It emphasizes the concept of social consciousness and encourages individuals to practice acts of kindness by adopting the “Clean, Flush, Dry, Bin” approach in public toilets. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene behind closed doors and urges users to be more mindful of their actions.

Collaboration with Community Partners:
The PHC, a long-standing supporter of the campaign, continues its partnership with NEA to promote good toilet hygiene habits. Through its Neighbourhood Toilet Community Group initiative, the PHC works with various stakeholders to emphasize the shared responsibility of maintaining clean public toilets. Participating premises, such as coffeeshops and food cafeterias, have reported significant improvements in toilet cleanliness since joining the program.

Outreach Efforts:
NEA, along with its partners, will reach out to more than 2,000 premises across Singapore, including hawker centers, parks, petrol stations, schools, and public service agencies, to publicize campaign messages. The goal is to engage the community directly and encourage everyone to play their part in keeping public toilets clean.

Conclusion:
The Clean Public Toilets Campaign 2023 is a collaborative effort between NEA, PHC, RAS, and SKM to promote responsible use of public toilets and raise awareness about good hygiene habits. By encouraging individuals to adopt the “Clean, Flush, Dry, Bin” approach, the campaign aims to create a cleaner and more pleasant environment for all users. Through partnerships with various stakeholders, NEA hopes to foster a sense of shared responsibility and collective action in maintaining the cleanliness of public toilets.
