Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy Selects Nextracker for 2 GW Solar Projects in India, Accelerating Clean Energy Transition.

Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy, an end-to-end renewable EPC solutions provider based in India, has selected Nextracker, a global provider of intelligent solar tracker and software solutions, for approximately 2 GW of solar projects in India. Nextracker will supply its NX Horizon bifacial trackers for phase two (1.5 GW DC) and phase three (375 MW DC) solar projects at NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd’s solar park in Khavda, Gujarat.

The NX Horizon smart solar trackers offered by Nextracker are known for their reliability, performance, and ease of installation in various challenging site conditions. These trackers are widely deployed in the industry and can be paired with bifacial PV module technology. With this order, Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy and Nextracker have surpassed over 5 GW of collaborative solar power generation projects across seven countries.

The CEO of Nextracker, Dan Shugar, expressed his excitement about the partnership with Sterling & Wilson and highlighted the geographic diversity of their collaboration. He emphasized that achieving over 5 GW together in seven countries is a testament to their strong collaboration and shared commitment to accelerating the world’s transition to clean energy.

Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy is a leading EPC specialist for utility-scale solar, floating solar, and hybrid & energy storage solutions, with a total portfolio of over 17.5 GWp. The company was ranked as the number one EPC solutions provider in India by Wood Mackenzie in 2020. The CEO of Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy Group, Amit Jain, praised Nextracker’s technology for its consistent quality, ease of installation, and reliability. He expressed their shared mission to fast-track clean energy and their commitment to delivering high-performing, cost-efficient, and timely solutions to plant operator-owners worldwide.

Nextracker has been expanding its presence in India over the past decade. The company has ramped up its local manufacturing capabilities, with steel manufacturing fabrication facilities in multiple locations covering over 80% of the bill of materials. These manufacturing facilities currently have a capacity of 10 GW per year, and Nextracker’s exports from Indian manufacturing alone account for 8 GW of solar tracker product shipped.

This collaboration between Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy and Nextracker highlights the growing demand for reliable and efficient solar tracking solutions in the Indian market. As India continues to expand its renewable energy capacity, partnerships like this will play a crucial role in accelerating the adoption of clean energy and achieving the country’s sustainability goals.
