Green Building Renewables Expands Operations and Targets £100m Turnover by 2025

Green Building Renewables, a York-based cleantech company, has recently made its eleventh strategic acquisition, expanding its operations into Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. The acquisition of Newark-based JL Phillips Renewable Energy Ltd has boosted the company’s turnover to £42m, putting it on track to achieve its target of £100m turnover by 2025. Green Building Renewables has seen remarkable growth, increasing its turnover from £3m to over £40m since 2021. The company offers a range of renewable technology solutions such as air and ground source heat pumps, underfloor heating, solar PV, EV charging, and battery storage through its network of local energy experts.

With a focus on becoming the largest installer of domestic renewable technology by 2025, Green Building Renewables is investing in expanding its network and workforce. The acquisition of JL Phillips is part of a broader strategy to address the skills shortage in the UK for qualified solar panel installers and heat pump engineers. The company, led by Managing Director Chris Delaney, aims to provide the best local service to customers by leveraging the expertise of installers who understand their area and needs.

The company’s rapid growth is evident in its expansion from one office in York to 15 regional offices across England in just two years. By the end of 2024, Green Building Renewables plans to have full coverage of England, with a focus on recruiting and training the renewable workforce of the future. The company is currently recruiting for a learning and development director to lead its training academy, which will complement its existing training hub in York and a new academy in Daventry. With ambitions to offer trusted and highly rated services nationwide, Green Building Renewables is actively pursuing further acquisitions to strengthen its local network and reach more customers across the country.
